Week 2 opens with Buffalo hosting Detroit at 8:15 p.m. Eastern, and the BakaBois slate already has plenty of Thursday-night skin in the game. Both NFL teams enter 1-0, while every fantasy matchup is still at its opening snapshot: no result is final and no projection is a score.

The opening pressure points are easy to find. Jim brings the published No. 1 power ranking into a meeting with Brett, ranked No. 5; both started 1-0, but Jim’s 163.16 Week 1 was the best total in the field while Brett posted 137.36. Banz–Ian is another 1-0 versus 0-1 clash, with Banz fourth in the poll after a 140.36-point opener and Ian 19th after 105.96.

League 1 has its own tight ranking fights. Josh is No. 3 against Cesar at No. 10, with both owners 1-0 after Week 1. Kent–Will is even more volatile on paper: Kent is No. 11 at 1-0, while Will is No. 12 at 0-1 despite scoring 132.06, a total that would have beaten six teams in the opening week. Mitchell–Ben pairs No. 15 with No. 6 and puts Mitchell’s 0-1 record against Ben’s 1-0 start.

Thursday-night lineup pressure

The Bills–Lions game touches several lineups. In League 1, Mitchell has Tyler Bass, Alex has Josh Allen, Cesar has DJ Moore, Sam LaPorta and Jake Bates, Payden has Amon-Ra St. Brown, Ryan has James Cook III and Jameson Williams, and Kent has Jahmyr Gibbs in starting slots. In League 2, Ian starts Jake Bates, Jim starts Dalton Kincaid, Brett starts Josh Allen, Jahmyr Gibbs and DJ Moore, Dannie starts Sam LaPorta, Kenneth starts Jameson Williams, and Savage starts James Cook III.

The official team reports add context without turning it into a fantasy guarantee. Buffalo listed Cole Bishop, Ty Johnson and T.J. Sanders as questionable; Detroit ruled out Blake Miller and Christian Mahogany and listed D.J. Reed as questionable. None of those designations is a declaration about the BakaBois starters above, so the Thursday decision remains a watch-the-inactives situation rather than a premature lock.

Cesar’s matchup with Josh is the most concentrated Thursday swing: Cesar has three starters in the game, while Josh has none. Brett’s meeting with Jim carries the biggest ranking contrast among the League 2 games, but Brett owns the clearest Thursday lever with Allen, Gibbs and Moore. Payden–Ryan is another direct game-within-the-game: Payden has Amon-Ra, while Ryan counters with Cook and Jameson.

The rest of the week is still wide open. Sunday brings 14 games, followed by the Rams–Giants Monday night game, so Thursday points will shape the board without deciding it. The published Week 1 power rankings remain the frame—this preview does not quietly rerank anyone—and the first real test is whether tonight’s crowded lineups can turn opportunity into an early edge.
