Josh turned the first Wednesday waiver run into a $32 bet on receiver depth. He paid $16 apiece for Devaughn Vele and Caleb Douglas, dropping Mike Washington Jr. and Baker Mayfield. Both additions were on his bench afterward. That is a substantial investment in future choices for a 1–0 team heading into a Week 2 meeting with Cesar.

Kenneth made a smaller purchase with a more immediate job attached: Keenan Allen cost $9 and was already in a starting receiver slot. With A.J. Brown on injured reserve, a usable lineup option matters more than winning the bid sheet.

Across the two leagues, the recorded Wednesday batch contains 17 claims and $111 in FAAB spending. These are the recorded moves through 11:38 a.m. Eastern, not a guarantee that every possible transaction has finished processing.

Vele gets two buyers; Kenneth rebuilds his options

Vele drew almost the same price in both leagues: Josh paid $16 in League 1, while Kyle paid $15 in League 2 and dropped Tre Tucker. Kyle also had Vele on the bench at the roster check, with CeeDee Lamb and Tee Higgins in his receiver slots. Buying the player and starting him remain two different decisions.

Kenneth paired Allen with a $7 claim for Dontayvion Wicks, releasing Chris Bell and Tank Dell. Allen was starting; Wicks was on the bench. Kenneth and Savage both enter their Week 2 matchup at 0–1, so the first useful points from those moves will matter more than an offseason-style argument about upside.

League 1 had its own Wicks buyer: Mitchell paid $3 and dropped Brian Robinson Jr. Mitchell also spent $1 to replace Harrison Butker with Tyler Bass. Bass was in his lineup afterward, with Buffalo scheduled to play Detroit on Thursday night. Unlike the receiver stashes, that decision has an early deadline.

The rest of the recorded wire

In League 1, Will spent $11 on Denzel Boston and released Tyler Shough. Ben paid $7 for Bryce Young, dropping Chris Rodriguez Jr.; Young was on the bench behind Matthew Stafford afterward. Kent added the Buccaneers defense for $1 and dropped Malachi Fields, while Austin claimed the 49ers defense for $0 and released Keenan Allen. Austin had San Francisco starting; Kent still had Houston in his starting defense slot. Lil C also released Sam Darnold on Tuesday night, a separate drop rather than one of Wednesday's claims.

In League 2, Wes spent $8 on Shough and dropped Jordan Love, then added Emmett Johnson for $0 while releasing the Lions defense. Both additions were on his bench. Savage added Pat Bryant for $5. Dannie paid $7 to replace the Cowboys defense with Kansas City and had the Chiefs starting afterward. Ian spent $4 on the Buccaneers defense and released Kyler Murray, but still had Jacksonville in his starting defense slot. Rice Cracker added Malik Washington for $1 and dropped Tank Bigsby.

Those prices describe completed claims. They do not turn a bench stash into a recommended start or a proposed trade into an actual roster transfer.

The injury decisions did not end with waivers

Darnell and Brett have a new bench problem: Cleveland placed Dylan Sampson on injured reserve Tuesday with a knee injury. Both still had him on their benches at the Wednesday check. That is a real change since the opening-week recap, rather than another questionable tag to watch.

Ryan and Miguel still had Ladd McConkey starting. Jim Harbaugh's Monday update described his rib injury as day-to-day, so neither lineup should treat an early-week slot as Sunday clearance. Ryan has Stefon Diggs and Wan'Dale Robinson on his bench; Miguel has a different roster and cannot borrow Ryan's escape routes.

Jalen Coker was starting in Savage's flex spot and sitting on Ryan's bench. Carolina's Monday report described a rolled ankle and a precautionary boot; Coker expected not to miss time, which is encouraging without being a final availability decision. Savage now also has Bryant among his bench receivers.

Mitchell's receiver decisions still include Zay Flowers, whom Baltimore described Monday as day-to-day after a hamstring injury. Wicks is an additional option on Mitchell's bench, not proof that Flowers will sit. At tight end, Mitchell currently has Michael Mayer starting with Brock Bowers on the bench, while Jason has T.J. Hockenson starting with Bowers on his bench in League 2. Those are roster snapshots, and later practice reports can change the call.

The wire has supplied options. The next test is choosing which ones belong on the field: Josh's expensive new receivers can wait on the bench, Kenneth's Allen is already being asked to help, and Mitchell's kicker choice comes due Thursday night.
